GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive SEN school in Barnet. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will assist in delivering tailored educational programs to students with special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). You will work closely with teachers to create a supportive learning environment, adapt lesson plans to meet individual needs. Join forces with fellow staff members to weave a seamless and inclusive educational tapestry for all students.

Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with SEN.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with MLD, ASD, and SLD.
Employ diverse instructional strategies, including hands-on activities, multimedia resources, and interactive discussions, to cater to different learning styles and keep students engaged.
Regularly assess students' understanding and progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to help them improve and succeed.
Foster a classroom atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful, and conducive to learning, where all students feel valued and supported.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to share best practices, create interdisciplinary projects, and foster an inclusive educational experience.
Provide additional support and guidance to students who may be struggling, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Keep detailed records of students' progress, attendance, and behavior, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and accurately reflects each student's achievements and areas for improvement.
Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Previous experience in a similar role or working with students with special educational needs.
Understanding of the national curriculum and strategies for supporting students with special education needs.
Ability to employ a range of teaching strategies that engage and inspire students, making complex concepts accessible and interesting.
Strong ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive relationships and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Passion for supporting students with SEN and a commitment to their academic and personal development.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
