About The Role

The successful applicants MUST HAVE A FULL UK Driving Licence and be able to drive a company van to and from different locations within NNC. Applicants must also have experience in ground works and manual digging. Covering the parks, gardens, open spaces, highways, and cemeteries throughout NNC, the successful applicant will provide grass cutting, strimming, litter picking, hedge cutting, grave digging, weed spraying, and other duties within the scope of the role.
The role is primarily based out of the Corby depot; however, the role may be deployed across the area of operations in Kettering, Wellingborough, or Thrapston, and the successful applicant may need to work out of any of these areas as a primary base.
What will you be doing?
Duties will include:
1. Digging with hand tools
2. Strimming/Grass Cutting/Shovelling soil
3. Manual Labour / Ground works
4. Litter picking
5. Weed spraying
6. Driving
7. Using hand tools
8. Watering and maintaining newly planted trees
About You
We operate in all weathers (rain or shine!) so you must be happy to work outdoors. This role can be physically demanding and will include lifting and carrying heavy equipment. Good communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with our customers, internal members of staff, and members of the public. You should have an interest in grounds maintenance or a willingness to learn new things (experience is desirable but if you don’t, we can provide you with the training required). You should be willing to try your hand at other jobs within the service, as some flexibility would be desirable.
