Star Central Internal Job Title: Subject Improvement Lead (Humanities) Strategic Direction and Development Lead the implementation of a Trust-wide Humanities curriculum and assessment framework (curriculum plans, lesson plans, teaching resources, assessment materials). Lead subject leaders’ network meetings to develop the capacity of subject leaders. Deliver induction training to new Star teachers, Early Career Teachers, and trainees in the subject. Visit assigned schools – as directed by the Director of Curriculum and Assessment and at an agreed frequency – to enhance outcomes for young people in Humanities. Develop the capacity of subject leaders through coaching, modelling of subject leadership activity, co-planning, and training. You will have: A degree in a humanities subject along with Qualified Teacher Status. A national professional qualification (NPQ) in middle or senior leadership. An in depth knowledge of the exam specifications in humanities subjects. Experience of delivering outstanding results consistently and a track record of improving results as a humanities subject leader. Experience of developing and delivering high impact intervention programmes. The ability to analyse assessment data and use it effectively to identify and close gaps in learning. Successfully delivered training and coaching for humanities teachers. Passion for securing life-changing outcomes for young people in disadvantaged communities.
