The role is based in a school for autistic children aged 4-19 years old that has been graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. You will be provided with access to a wide range of funded training and qualification opportunities in SEN education whilst gaining a breadth of experience with children of varying ages and abilities. The school uses behaviour-driven teaching strategies and interventions to encourage positive outcomes and student development. You will work within small classes, both individually and in groups, designing, planning, and delivering teaching sessions to encourage pupils' learning and progression, as well as improve their social and emotional development.

* Permanent contract
* Salary: £22,816 (actual salary based on 39 working weeks)
* 35 hours per week - Monday-Friday: 9am-5.00pm
* £1000 joining bonus
* Start in November 2024
Main Responsibilities:
* Working under the supervision of qualified therapists, support the provision of specialist treatment to adult learners with complex communication, motor, and sensory needs.
* Be responsible for a personal caseload of learners by delivering planned therapy programs whilst working under the supervision of qualified therapists, shadowing, and undergoing training.
* Be responsible for maintaining therapy equipment by sourcing and ordering resources whilst ensuring health and safety standards are met.
* Support the administration of the therapy provision by undertaking clerical and housekeeping duties including filing, timetabling, drawing up rotas, and conducting folder checks with regard to therapy targets.
* Collaboratively work with learners, support staff, and other professionals to meet the needs of the learners, providing feedback on learners' progress as appropriate.
* Record outcomes of therapeutic contact with learners by adding to case notes following instruction from therapists.
Application Requirements:
* Previous experience working with SEN students is desirable.
* Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent is essential.
* Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour.
* Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required.
* Ability to keep calm in high-pressure situations.
