As a Childrens Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will become part of a growing, close knit team dedicated to delivering advanced symptom management and holistic care to our children, young people and families across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes. You'll be offering compassion, expertise, and support every step of the way.
Key responsibilities
Provide advanced level symptom management within specialist palliative care nursing to children, young people, and their families
Manage a caseload within a geographical locality
Champion the holistic wellbeing of our children and families, advocating for their needs and ensuring that they are supported
Manage your own work whilst offering expert advice to families navigating the complexities of palliative care
Provide clinical leadership for the Keech Childrens service, patients, families, and external multi-professional teams
Deliver learning and development to enhance knowledge, skills, and confidence across services
Shifts are 7.5 hours (some flexibility required) with additional on call responsibilities (24/7 on call rota)
Essential
NMC Registered Childrens Nurse
Extensive experience in childrens palliative care
Experience in symptom management and pain control in End of Life Care
An adaptable approach to a changing work environment
Be a non-medical prescriber or willingness to achieve
Desirable
Experience in clinical leadership, mentorship, and service development
Teaching skills
Advanced level communication skills
