Arriva TrainCare is part of Arriva; you’ll be part of a professional team with these core behaviours at heart; • We care passionately • We do the right thing • We make the difference About the role: We are on the lookout for a confident and experience heavy maintenance manager with an excellent safety record, strong production and people management expertise who is responsible for safe, on time, on budget and consistent heavy maintenance project delivery. You will be managing an effective, high performing and safety focused team delivering excellent customer service, people and production management across all ATC Heavy Maintenance projects. What You’ll Do: Ensure all HM projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget and to the quality expected. Lead on the development and delivery of actions plans to recover variances identified. Ensure all HM projects within ATC adhere to the project lifecycle framework and PEP. Responsible for a HM procedure that is understood and adhered to across every team and is kept under regular review to ensure a consistent approach at any HM location within ATC. Critically review and analyse project performance data to drive continuous improvement in project deliverability and margin. Work with the HM managers to develop and deliver excellent manpower planning systems to ensure managers can accurately and effectively deploy their resources in line with high level targets/budgets/skills and competency matrices. Provide supporting documentation and attend budget reviews with Finance Team and HMPDM when required. Ensure competence assessment and audit compliance across all HM teams and projects. Responsible for improvements and delivery in HSEQ areas including but not limited to: • Safety Tours, • Accident/Incident investigations, • Ensuring work locations and equipment are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards, • Ensuring suitable risk assessments and working instructions for all activities undertaken by the team are in place, understood and adhered to. Ensure full HM engagement with all mobilisation planning for new projects with all actions delivered on time. Proactive and effective management of internal and external stakeholders driving a strong customer support ethos. Play an active part in providing insight to talent mapping and succession planning processes to ensure the retention and development of employees. Undertake and complete annual Performance Development Reviews with direct reports, in a timely manner, with regular progress reviews in place throughout the year. Also ensure that regular personal development and performance conversations are diarised for all HM staff with their local managers. Closely working with Technical Engineering Team to develop skills across all teams at all levels, adding input to the technical training and development programme to ensure training needs for projects and personal development captured and scheduled appropriately. Full job description available on request What You Bring: Qualifications – Level 3 qualification in Engineering Experience – previous experience of leading a team within a heavy maintenance environment with a proven track record of managing complex programmes and problem solving abilities. Communication - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with customers and all internal stakeholders Knowledge – strong financial and commercial acumen, contract management experience Valid driving licence Ready to start your next journey?
