Highly Specialist Children's Physiotherapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced community children's physiotherapist to lead the Special Schools Physiotherapy Service in Brent. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic paediatric physiotherapist with appropriate post graduate physiotherapy skills to join our friendly, supportive therapy team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists and assistants.
We are dedicated to developing innovative services and work collaboratively with our local Child Developmental Team, Education and Social Care services, with joint assessments and discussion forums.
As a member of the Team you will provide a high quality service to Children & Young People, aged 0 to 19 years with physical needs in a variety of settings including special schools, nurseries and community clinics.
Applicants must be registered with the Health Professions Council and CSP and have relevant post graduate experience, as specified on the job description and person specification.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will hold a varied SEN caseload, and will be expected to undertake specialist physiotherapy assessments and devise client centred treatment interventions. The post holder will also provide a leadership role to SEN pathways for preschool and school age CYP and support staff through appraisal and in service training. The post holder will also contribute to the development of physiotherapy clinical pathways and care packages and coordinate physiotherapy services to CYP transitioning from preschool to school and into adult services.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification
* Degree/ Diploma in Physiotherapy
* Valid Health and Care Professions Council Registration
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
* Member of the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists
* Supervisory / leadership skills training
Experience
* Specialist knowledge and experience in paediatric physiotherapy including children with additional needs.
* Experience of delivering physiotherapy within a community setting, including clinic, patient's homes, schools, nursery or children's centres as appropriate
* Substantial experience as a Band 6 physiotherapist in Paediatrics.
* Post graduate experience covering core rotations
* Knowledge/ experience in the use of relevant assessment and treatment approaches, including the use of standardised assessments
* Experience in contributing to policy, procedures, guidelines and clinical standards development.
* Experience in training/teaching healthcare professionals
* Appropriate post graduate experience working with CYP with SEN/ physical disabilities
* Experience working in Special/Mainstream Schools
* Experience in conducting audits and / or research.
* Experience in setting up new projects/ initiatives
Skills and Knowledge
* Sound knowledge of clinical practice and issues relating to the delivery of physiotherapy
* Ability to work with paediatric patients from a diverse range of backgrounds 0-19years
* Advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of CYP with a variety of conditions
* Knowledge and understanding of specialist equipment
