This exciting opportunity is to cover a 12 month maternity leave within the Digital Service Transformation team. The postholder will be responsible for creating high quality training and delivering training courses using several platforms to suit the learning styles of our staff. Ensuring all staff using the systems required to fulfil their job roles efficiently and effectively.
You will educate all staff to effectively utilise new technology which may directly, and fundamentally, alter their existing roles in a rapidly changing environment. This can result in staff feeling insecure within the organisation and within their role. The challenge is to influence their attitude toward Digital in a positive way and support them successfully through the changes.
The right candidate will have a proven track record in training development and delivery to staff of all levels with key skills in developing high quality training materials. This is a very exciting time for our team as we support the Trust on its Digital Transformation Journey, and these roles are pivotal to our success.
The ability to travel to all sites where The Christie offers services will be required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be integral to the Trust's implementation of Clinical and Non-Clinical system developments, primarily by undertaking the development, planning, preparation and delivery of end user training sessions and materials for system developments, Basic IT Skills and common MS Office programs, under the guidance of the Digital Transformation Team.
They will assist with the realisation of benefits identified from the introduction of the new solutions by delivering high quality training on complex systems which are themselves evolving in terms of functionality. This is a critical role in ensuring the Trust can function, as failure by staff to achieve competency will result in their inability to perform their given role.
Working closely with Business Analysis team, project managers and development colleagues, they will identify the impact of changing processes on the development of training courses and materials.
Job Responsibilities
Training Responsibilities
1. Devise and perform Training Needs Analyses as appropriate.
2. Develop lesson plans, eLearning materials and training syllabuses for training sessions.
3. Assist in the preparation and management of all learning resources, facilities and materials for all digital skills and training.
4. Carry out training on all Trust systems and ongoing refresher and update training as required.
5. Use complex equipment to produce reports on staff training.
6. Train staff utilising advanced computer skills proven through qualifications such as ECDL or CLAIT.
7. Identify additional investment requirements in training materials, venues, personnel or other resources.
8. Responsible for updating attendance and ensuring rebooking and attendance.
9. Use training records to determine competency of individual users post training.
10. Provide training, coaching and support to staff identified as SuperUsers.
11. Manage own workload in terms of timetables, training programmes and timely reports.
12. Cope with an unpredictable and fluctuating workload.
13. Adapt training style and materials according to the group dynamic.
14. Provide support to any staff member experiencing difficulty in completing their training.
15. Ensure all training adheres to staff legal and ethical responsibilities.
16. Ensure that other learning tools and aids are produced as appropriate.
17. Assess risks, issues or follow-up actions identified during training courses.
18. Analyse course feedback and take appropriate action.
19. Ensure training courses are adapted to meet the needs of all end users.
20. Liaise with various teams to support testing of new solutions and ensure knowledge of digital systems develops in line with trust developments.
21. Ensure all IT equipment used during training is set up and used safely.
22. Ensure training venues are reserved and set up appropriately.
23. Actively support Go Live for projects by providing user assistance.
24. Support the digital teams during the deployment of new developments.

1. Provide support to Business Change with respect to process reviews and their impact on training.
2. Undertake testing of complex equipment to ensure fit for purpose.
3. Identify areas needing upgrades or adaptations and suggest solutions.
4. Be involved in the implementation and management of process change.
5. Build knowledge base of process flows for best practice advice during training.
6. Provide input to usability testing scripts to ensure systems reflect operational needs.
7. Be involved in post-implementation audits to ascertain lessons learned.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
1. Experience or qualification equivalent to Diploma level.
2. IT Training qualification or equivalent experience.
3. Evidence of CPD.

1. Experience of delivering training in various settings.
2. Experience of developing e-Learning packages.
