We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to oversee the production processes for a well-established window and door business based in West Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while maintaining the highest quality standards.
The role:
1. Manage production output for the shift, ensuring daily targets are achieved by the team.
2. Lead, mentor, and supervise production staff, ensuring they are trained and equipped to perform their duties efficiently.
3. Foster a positive team environment, promoting open communication and collaboration.
4. Manage stock levels within the department.
5. Ensure that staff are working safely in line with the SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and wearing required PPE where required.
6. Ensure production quality is to the highest standard, quality audits/remake management.
7. Plan daily schedules, organize staff resourcing and escalate any issues that may arise when required.
8. Responsible for informing and expediting critical data covering labour, machines, and materials as well as line balancing, reporting any issues to your line manager.
9. Provide live reports on achievements/outputs and deviations from required goals and targets.
10. Carry out performance reviews with staff and manage returns to work, ensuring that any absence issues are reported to supervisors daily.
11. Review systems/processes to achieve continuous improvement in your department.
The candidate:
1. Have current or recent experience as a Production Manager within the window and door industry.
2. Have knowledge of 5s and LEAN manufacturing.
3. Excellent and timely decision-making skills.
4. Problem solver.
5. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
6. Demonstrate good people management skills in motivation, development, and communication.
