Role: Transport Operations Manager Location: Wakefield Salary: £42,000 - £47,500 Bonus, Premium's, Additional Benefits Shift: Fixed 4 Days (Incl. 1 Weekend Day) - Night Shift Also Available ( Additional Premium) As the Transport Operations Manager, you will oversee daily transport operations, ensuring the smooth running of activities across your shift. You’ll be responsible for leading a team of drivers and staff, managing fleet compliance, and driving operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership : Lead and develop a team of drivers and transport staff, ensuring they meet performance targets and work to the highest standards. Compliance & Safety : Ensure all transport activities comply with regulations, including driver hours, vehicle checks, and health and safety protocols. Route Planning : Oversee effective route planning to optimize delivery schedules and ensure cost-effective operations. KPI Management : Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, fuel efficiency, and driver performance, making improvements where necessary. Problem-Solving : Quickly and efficiently resolve any operational issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Collaboration : Work closely with warehouse teams and senior management to ensure operational goals are met. We are looking for a proactive and experienced Transport Operations Manager with a solid background in transport operations within a 3PL or logistics environment. Key Skills & Experience: Proven Experience : Previous experience in a similar role within the logistics sector is essential. Leadership Skills : Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop your team. Operational Knowledge : A solid understanding of transport planning, fleet management, and transport compliance (WTD, tachographs, etc.). Problem-Solving Abilities : A hands-on approach with the ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong Communication : Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both your team and senior management.
