Contract & Hour: Fixed Term, 12-16 hours per week
Salary: £10,500 p.a.
Performance Rehabilitation Services
* In conjunction with staff across the Medical, Performance and Football department lead the effective short, medium and long term management of injured women’s players and their performance rehabilitation journey.
* Lead on the design and delivery of criteria led rehabilitation for all Women’s First Team players alongside other Performance & Medical staff. This includes initial case conference, acute medical management, rehabilitation delivery and all aspects of associated stakeholder management.
* Develop innovative and contemporary rehabilitation strategies/frameworks to ensure First Team players have a positive rehabilitation journey.
* Engage in each injured players Individual Performance Plan (IPP) and work closely with all necessary stakeholders to use the injury period as an opportunity to allow the player to continually improve.
Therapy Duties
* To ensure adequate medical coverage at all Women’s first team training sessions and provide support to ensure players are ready to train and are adequately prepared to perform.
* Lead clinical assessment of acute injuries and communicate directly with key stakeholders to manage any short-term injuries. Advise on management plans.
* Provide on pitch cover when needed for training and specific sessions as well as coordinating match day cover through the use of casual staff if needed.
Medical Admin
* Lead on the rehabilitation process of medium-long term injured players including aspects of referral, specialist appointments, player scheduling, planning and medical record keeping.
* Provide regular reports on injured players rehabilitation progress and keep all appropriate and accurate records/notes on the EMR system used club wide.
Overall Environment Duties
* Attend all appropriate review/planning meetings (Team, MDT, Performance etc) to proactively contribute to the overall management of the environment, players and AOB.
* Ensure players have access to all the tools they need to optimise their rehabilitation and preparation strategies by contributing to the up keep of all performance facilities.
* When needed lead and assist with pitch and gym based performance coaching in order to support the overall delivery of the Women’s First Team Physical Performance Program.
Projects and Leadership
* Work closely with members of the Performance & Football Departments to Identify and develop projects that impact the knowledge within the women’s game (TBD).
* Maintain a record of each long term rehabilitation in a format which can be presented, reviewed and reflected on so we continually look to learn and grow from our work and as a club.
About The Candidate
* BSc in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.
* Registration with appropriate governing body (CSP, BASRAT, SMT).
* 5 Years’ experience delivering therapy and rehabilitation in sport (preferably football / women’s sport).
