Description
The HR Business Partner will provide efficient and effective HR support, offering managers advice, guidance, and coaching on policy and legislation to help them manage their teams effectively. The role also involves tackling diverse and challenging generalist and administrative HR tasks to support organisational performance through our people. Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Business Partner will contribute to a variety of projects across the full HR remit.
What that means day to day
* Partner with line managers to drive exceptional performance through people initiatives and expert HR advice.
* Track and analyse key metrics like absence, turnover, and retention, delivering insightful reports and action plans for improvement.
* Support with initiatives related to Onboarding, Wellbeing, Employee Relations, Learning & Development, Performance Management, and Change Management, while ensuring HR policies and practices align with best standards.
* Assist with recruitment and onboarding, fostering a positive candidate experience and ensuring smooth transitions for new hires.
* Advise on policy interpretation, support organisational change, and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
* Utilise HR systems, create reports, interpret data and create actionable insights.
* Identify development needs, collaborate on plans to improve performance, and strengthen manager and colleague relationships.
* Oversee and lead on HR casework, including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
* Deliver training to enhance managers’ confidence and management skills.
* Support employer branding efforts to position the company as an employer of choice.
* Manage HR administration and process improvement for greater efficiency.
What you’ll need to be successful
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in an HR Business Partner or Advisory role, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels. Personable and results-oriented, you will bring a practical and logical approach to solving problems, combined with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining integrity and discretion in all matters. Adaptable and resilient, you will thrive in an ambitious and evolving organisation, demonstrating the ability to prioritise effectively, work with ambiguity, and maintain focus even when faced with setbacks or challenging situations.
You will possess strong influencing and persuasion skills, alongside hands-on experience with HR systems and a solid understanding of employment legislation. The ability to design and implement policies is essential, as is a willingness to identify and address your own development needs to expand your skills and knowledge. Proficiency in IT systems, including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to draft reports and presentations, is also required with a keen eye for detail and strong administration skills. A background in CIPD Level 5 or an HR related degree, along with presentation skills, would be advantageous.
