Mental health reablement teams offer short, intensive, activation focussed interventions to support service users to increase, reconnect to, or initiate activities of meaning to support recovery from a period of mental health distress. The team delivery consists of specialist occupational therapy assessment followed by group and 1:1 intervention in peoples own homes and communities. The team consists of qualified Occupational Therapists and skilled support staff who deliver up to 4 contacts per week for a maximum of 12 weeks. The role of the Band 6 Reablement Occupational Therapist is to provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and treatment interventions for the specified service user group, carry a complex caseload as a member of the MDT, supervise members of the team, and support the development of the occupational therapy service provision within the setting.
