Role Stork is currently looking for UKAS RG2 Category 2 or 3 Inspection Engineers to work onshore in the Cheshire region. Excellent market rates on offer with PAYE and LTD company options available. Roles on offer will involve in-service plant inspections based on a refinery plant. Tasks and Responsibilities of an Inspection Engineer: Preparation of WSEs in accordance with the Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR). Preparation of inspection work scopes to satisfy the Written Schemes of Examination. (WSE) I.e. specify access, insulation removal and NDT requirements. Carry out invasive visual examinations of major pressure systems in accordance with the WSE. Typical equipment found on site: Process pipework, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, distillation columns, PRVs and storage tanks. Interface with NDT team to provide clarification on NDT inspection techniques in order to meet integrity objectives. Preparation of high quality inspection reports, accurately describing the assets condition. Grade corrosion against company procedure corrosion scales. Raise mandatory defects when the acceptable limits have been breached. Review PRV certification. Ensure the device is correctly set and is overhauled/tested on a set frequency. Review WSE and inspection frequency post inspection to confirm accuracy and relevancy. Participate in the Risk Based Assessment programme for pressure systems equipment. Requirements for the Inspection Engineer Role Essential Requirements and Experience: In-service inspection experience of process piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, distillation columns and PRVs, and knowledge of the accompanying design codes. Understanding of PSSR with experience of creating work scopes to carry out examinations of major pressure systems in accordance with the WSE. Successful applicants must meet the UKAS definition for category 3 inspection engineers as seen below: Category 2. Incorporated Engineer as defined by Engineering Council or equivalent (e.g. appropriate HNC with relevant experience, NVQ Level IV Engineering) including at least 5 years’ experience within a relevant engineering discipline of which at least one year shall have been spent working within an engineering discipline associated with in-service inspection of pressure systems. Category 3. Engineering Technician as defined by Engineering Council or equivalent (e.g. appropriate ONC with relevant experience, NVQ Level III) having a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a relevant discipline of which at least one year shall have been spent working within an engineering discipline associated with the in-service inspection of pressure systems. Desirable Qualifications: ASME Plant Inspector Level 1/ 2 certification. API 570 Pipe Inspection certification. API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection Certification. API 653 Tank Inspection Certification. EMMUA 159 Certification.
