Job summary
Lawford Surgery is looking for a salaried GP to join their busy practice, covering approximately 6 sessions a week, however this is negotiable - please do contact us to discuss what you may be looking for, we look forward to hearing from you. We welcome informal discussions and practice visits. Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group. The role will include all general duties associated with a GP working within primary care.
Main duties of the job
1. Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion;
2. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation;
3. Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems;
4. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness;
5. Providing health education;
6. Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards;
7. Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements;
8. Delivering enhanced services;
9. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions;
10. All general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
About us
Lawford Surgery is a semi-rural practice with approximately 4,500 patients. Our team consists of 1 principal GP, 1 salaried GP, 1 nurse practitioner and 1 HCA. We also have a variety of support staff from our PCN and clinical staff are supported by our reception team, secretary, administration clerk, dispensing team and practice manager.

Qualifications
Essential
11. Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
12. Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate).
13. Be on the NHSE medical performers list.
Experience
Essential
14. We operate on Emis Web clinical system and experience is preferred but not essential.
15. Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services;
16. Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date;
17. Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety;
18. Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice;
19. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
