About the role:
Liquid Personnel have an exciting opportunity for a Children’s Residential Care practitioner to join an incredible children and young people’s residential home’s provider within the upnor area. They are regulated by Ofsted and all homes are rated good and above.
You will be joining a brand-new home for children and young people, registered for up to 4 young people from 13-17 years old with behaviours which may challenge and who have suffered traumatic experiences. You’ll play an important role and make a difference to their lives, ensuring they receive the best care possible.
Your key responsibilities as the Residential Care Support Worker:
1. To demonstrate good childcare practices in own direct work with children to be a role model for other staff members.
2. Key Working to be responsible for and accountable to senior staff in ensuring effective assessment monitoring, planning and evaluating for each child takes place.
3. To actively seek the views and opinions of children and provide a platform from which they can be heard.
4. To carry out specific tasks as delegated by the Registered Manager/ Deputy/ Seniors.
5. To be supportive of teamwork. Following agreed team meetings/plans and supporting a high challenge high support culture.
6. To act as driver and/or escort transporting young people to and from school, on shopping trips and activities.
7. Flexible working, to perform sleeping-in duties as required.
8. Meet the needs of children and young people, using a restorative approach, developing strong relationships to support children make their own decisions and actively engage.
9. Delivery of direct work with children through their plans of support.
10. Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with other services, the community, and agencies to deliver a holistic service to children with complex needs.
11. Delivery of specialist interventions and programmes (training is provided)
You will need:
12. Availability to work on a rota incl days evenings, weekends and sleepins
13. Good knowledge around Children’s Homes regulations (2015), Children’s Homes Regulations including the quality standards
14. Hold at least 1 years’ experience within a children’s residential homes
15. Hold a Full UK driving licence
