Job Description
The Key Responsibilities as an event organiser
* Assist in creating and implementing organizational objectives and targets.
* Produce content for press releases, news articles, and marketing materials.
* Plan, manage, and attend internal and external events, including those outside regular hours.
* Oversee event management, planning, and implementation.
* Manage facility rentals to meet revenue targets.
* Provide regular event outcome reports.
* Write and update website content using content management systems.
* Gather and share case studies with various stakeholders.
* Build and manage relationships with media outlets.
* Leverage partnerships to extend the organization's reach.
* Maintain a marketing database and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
* Ensure marketing materials meet quality standards and obtain necessary approvals.
* Photograph events, write news copy, and select images for publication.
* Manage image release permissions in line with data protection regulations.
* Create evaluation and statistical reports to measure success and suggest improvements.
* Analyze data related to relevant sectors and competitors, and provide recommendations.
* Prepare materials for events, including signage and collateral coordination.
* Maintain and update operational records and databases.
* Handle budget administration, including purchase orders and tracking expenses.
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure service, quality, and price benchmarks are met.
* Assist with administrative duties as needed.
* Undertake training and tasks as required by the role.
* Perform other duties as requested by the line manager at any location or event.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Communications and Events Organiser should have:
* A strong background in organising events and managing communications.
* Proficiency in managing a diverse team.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
* Ability to work in a not-for-profit environment and uphold its values.
* Experience in the Secretarial & Business Support department.
* Proven ability to manage budgets effectively.
* Exceptional organisational skills.
