We are looking for a Head of Operations to Join a Globally renowned charity based in Manchester city centre\n\nYou will be working within their live events arm of the organisation helping them host large scale live events.\n\nJob Role\n\nYou will report to the Director of Operations & CEO and work within the senior Management team of the organisation.\n\nAn exciting opportunity has been created to join a passionate, dedicated team.\n\nThe Director of Operation role is one of the most senior roles within the organisation.\n\nThe role is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the charity’s operations, leading on the development and delivery of key strategies aligning with the overarching strategic priorities plan.\n\nKey Areas of Responsibility\n\nOperations: Develop and take ownership of all aspects of the charity’s operations policies and procedures.\n\nEstablishing performance measures for all events and initiatives and reporting on these to the CEO and Board of Trustees.\n\nProviding the necessary support and coaching to the operations team to ensure seamless contract operations management for all external providers & suppliers.\n\nFinance:\n\nOverseeing the preparation of all budgets.\n\nClose financial monitoring and management of the Charity’s financial strategies, policies and procedures.\n\nSupporting the head of Finance and Senior Management Team in identifying and implementing efficiencies, ensuring projects run within agreed financial parameters.\n\nHR & People Management:\n\nAct as dedicated HR lead within the organisation, supporting colleagues to continually develop the best working atmosphere and culture for our people.\n\nProviding line management for direct reports including all aspects of appraisal and performance management.\n\nGovernance, Compliance & Risk Management: Overseeing the Charity’s compliance with relevant legislation and The Charity Commission.\n\nEnsuring all legal and insurance aspects and contractual arrangements are in line with the organisation's requirements.\n\nEnsuring all necessary risk mitigation strategies are in place and regularly reviewed.\n\nEvents:\n\nStrategic oversight of the events strategy Other Responsibilities:\n\nAs a critical friend to the CEO you will be a trusted advisor and deputy within the organisation.\n\nDeputising for the CEO in times of absence you will be the most senior Officer accountable directly to the Board of Trustees.\n\nYou will establish direct relationships with key stakeholders and delivery partners, acting as an ambassador for the charity.\n\nThe responsibilities outlined above are indicative only and not exhaustive. You will be expected to perform all such additional duties as are reasonably commensurate with the role.\n\nPlease take note that due to the nature of our work, the flexibility to work outside normal office hours will be required.\n\nThe role is based at our City Centre office and will require some International travel.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nWe’re looking for an effective leader with demonstrable operational management experience. As a values driven individual, you should be able to clearly evidence\n\noutstanding, inclusive leadership capability.\n\nYou will bring a diverse set of experiences and a track record of successfully managing and delivering projects and initiatives with operating budgets of circa £2m+.\n\nThis role will suit those with a genuine commitment to sound governance,\n\npolicies, processes and controls.\n\nYou’ll be joining a dedicated events team who deliver a programme of events, large and small, all year round and pride ourselves on our World-class standard.\n\nSkill and Experience Essential\n\nExperience operating at Director level in an operations role.\n\nCommercial awareness and a thorough understanding of the competitive funding environment in which we operate.\n\nAbility to prioritise goals and deliver against deadlines with a complex workload.\n\nCapacity to oversee the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.\n\nHighly effective written and verbal communication, presentation and ambassadorial skills.\n\nHighly organised with a positive and proactive approach to work.\n\nExcellent reporting and analysis skills.\n\nA clear understanding of and passion for diversity & equality issues.\n\nDesirable\n\nKnowledge and experience of working within the live events sector.\n\nKnowledge and understanding of the third sector.\n\nProficient using G-Suite or similar software.\n\nFull UK Driving licence
