My client (nursery) in Crawley is seeking a Deputy Manager in a Nursery. You need to have a level 3 or above nursery practitioner qualification to apply alongside experience having worked as a deputy or room leader before.

Responsible to: Nursery Manager
Main purpose of the role: To assist the manager in ensuring that the nursery follows the current policies, procedures and legislations from the EYFS and that the nurseries philosophy is abided by. Ensuring the children are always safe and well looked after. To be a good role model to the children and colleagues, managing and motivating the team, creating a happy working environment. In the absence of the manager to undertake the overall day to day management of the nursery.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Criteria
o A childcare and education qualification equivalent to Level 3
o A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Early Years Setting
o Experience of leading and supporting a team
o Current safeguarding training
o To hold a current First Aid Certificate
Desirable Criteria
o A Degree in Early Years Childcare and Education
o Experience working with children with SEND
o Management qualification
KNOWLEDGE
Essential Criteria
o Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Framework
o Comprehensive knowledge of child development, planning for children’s individual needs and next steps using the EYFS framework
o A full knowledge of safeguarding procedures
o A full knowledge of child development and the key person role
o A full knowledge of the inspection process of regulatory bodies
o A full knowledge of all Health and Safety policies and procedures
