Berkshire CAMHS are excited to be recruitingaqualifiedChildWellbeingPractitioner (CWP)in the established Getting Help Team (GHT) inSlough. Alongside the Mental Health Support Teams our Getting Help Team is part of an excitingprogrammefunded by NHS England, Health EducationEnglandand partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community. This opportunity allows you to join an innovative new service during an exciting time whilst working alongside an enthusiastic,compassionateand inspiring team!
The Getting Help Team sits within Early Help and adopts a multi-agency approach toworking;working closely withSloughEarly Help Hub and services, schools, voluntaryorganisations, education settings and other agencies. There is also a big focus on close links with specialist CAMHS to ensure a seamless approach to care for children and young people. The role offers an exciting opportunity to continue to innovate and deliver high quality evidence-based care andwhole systeminterventions, with great ongoing CPD opportunities.
The working pattern for this role is Monday – Friday, 9 – 5pm.
• Deliver evidence-based intervention for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems
• As a qualified CWP beconfident in the use of CYP IAPT principles, evidence-basedinterventionsand routine outcome measures.
• Helping children and young people who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services; using effective multiagency collaborative working to effectively signpost and refer on where needed
• Supportingprofessionals in varioussettings(e.g. education, Early Help, Social Care etc.)toidentifyand whereappropriate manageissues related to mental health and wellbeing
• To care co-ordinate and manage a defined caseload of children and young people presenting with emotional health and wellbeing difficulties in schools under supervision
• Todevelop andprovide training/workshopsforprofessionals, parentsand carers, and CYPin conjunction with colleagues.
• Actively promote thewholesystemapproach to developing andmaintainingemotional health and well-beingwithin and across services.

The “must haves” for this role:
• Graduate Diploma/ Post Graduate Diploma qualification as a Children Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP).
• A British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited or the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) accredited CWP training course or preparing to submit for accreditation.
• Be confident in assessing for and delivering, high quality, outcome focused, evidence-based low intensity interventions to children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties (CWP training),
• Be confident in working in a multiagency setting, working collaboratively with colleagues in Early Help, Social Care, schools and across the wider system.
• As a person, will always be looking for new or better ways to deliver care and be keen to learn,
• & most of all will have a calm, friendly and compassionate outlook and have a keen interest in early intervention and mental health promotion.
