Fire and Security Engineer
Location: Birmingham Area
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + Overtime, Bonus, and Additional Benefits
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Fire and Security Engineer to join our team in the Birmingham area. The role involves the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and security systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for working across various sites, providing technical support, and ensuring that all systems function effectively and safely.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, including conventional and addressable alarms
2. Service and maintenance of intruder alarms and associated security systems
3. Fault finding and troubleshooting on fire and security systems
4. Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and codes of practice (e.g., BS5839, EN50131, PD6662)
5. Carrying out system commissioning and system upgrades
6. Customer-facing role, providing professional support and guidance
7. Completing all relevant documentation and reporting as required
Experience and Qualifications Required
1. Proven experience as a Fire and Security Engineer, with a strong background in the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems and intruder alarms
2. Knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g., conventional and addressable) and security systems (e.g., intruder alarms, CCTV)
3. Experience working with industry standards such as BS5839, EN50131, and PD6662
4. Certification in fire alarm systems (e.g., FIA or equivalent)
5. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) is highly desirable
6. Full UK driving license
7. Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
8. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Hours
1. Standard working hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday
2. Flexible working hours and overtime opportunities available
3. Occasional out-of-hours work as required
