Location: BS11, Bristol | Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm | Competitive Pay
Are you a primary, secondary or further education teacher looking for a fresh start in your career? If you’re passionate about outdoor education and want to make a real difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), then this could be the perfect role for you! We are looking for an enthusiastic Special Needs Outdoor Education Teacher to join a school that embraces nature-based learning. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for teachers who are eager to transition into SEN education, with a strong focus on engaging post-16 students through hands-on, outdoor learning.
About the School
Located in a peaceful, nature-filled environment, this school offers the ideal setting for outdoor education. The facilities for gardening, horticulture, and a wide range of outdoor activities provide endless opportunities to teach and learn in a way that’s rooted in nature. As a Royal Horticultural Society School, the students also have the chance to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh programmes, giving them real-world skills and a connection to the outdoors. The school adopts a trauma-informed approach to teaching, using the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) to create a safe and supportive space for students with a variety of SEN. The curriculum includes a blend of sensory-based activities, outdoor explorations, and practical learning, making it a place where every student can thrive.
