We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor on a major highways infrastructure project in the Cambridgeshire area. This position offers a hybrid working model, with three days on-site or in the office and two days working from home, providing both flexibility and hands-on project involvement.
About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of this large-scale highways infrastructure project. Your expertise will be key in ensuring cost control, efficient budgeting, and successful project delivery. Previous experience working on similar highways projects is highly desired, and a strong understanding of NEC contracts is essential.
Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
1. Overseeing and managing project costs, budgets, and forecasts
2. Administering NEC contracts and ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements
3. Collaborating closely with the project team and client to ensure financial targets are met
4. Conducting regular site visits to monitor project progress and address any financial concerns
5. Preparing and negotiating final accounts
6. Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members where necessary
Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
1. Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally on highways or large infrastructure projects
2. Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration
3. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with the project team
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
5. Hybrid working flexibility with a commitment to three days on-site or in the office
