Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic band 6 Paediatric Epilepsy Nurse, to join our dynamic and progressive Paediatric EpilepsyTeam at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated multi-disciplinary team which provides a comprehensive epilepsy service to children, young people and their families. This team is well established and provides an inpatient and outpatient service across two hospital sites, as well as support in the community. We have links with London hospitals and offer a comprehensive training pathway for children and families to follow ensuring they have care including transition care to adult services. You will be working with another experienced Paediatric Epilepsy Nurse Specialist Band 8a. You will be responsible for your own caseload of children based at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, running your own clinics once trained and competent. You would be expected to also work at Maidstone Hospital for clinics and as the need arises. You will work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team, including Dietitian's, Psychologist and Consultant Paediatricians. You will attend regular multi-disciplinary team meetings and provide inpatient and community support. Delivering education will be a key aspect to your role and this will include children, families, schools and inpatient Nurses/Doctors. Main duties of the job You will also be involved in contributing to the epilepsy network groups and you will be required to contribute to service development. Non- medical prescribing would be an advantage however we are happy to support the completion of this module for the right candidate. We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills and commitment to continuous professional development, who can work autonomously and as part of an inter-disciplinary team with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines without compromising care.
