Job title: Production Wirer Location: Horsham Salary: £28,000 - £34,000pa Security Clearance Requirements: Due to the nature of their business, all staff need to be able to obtain UK Security Clearance as a mandated requirement. Therefore, if successful, you will need to be British and provide proof of identity, employment history and right to work in the UK, along with proof of UK residency for at least five years. We are currently recruiting for a Production Wirer to join our team to build and wire both prototype and production electronic equipment working from drawings, circuit diagrams, and engineer's sketches. Ensuring work gets completed to the deadlines set by the production team. Ensuring wiring best practices, quality standards and procedures are adhered to. Key Responsibilities: Manufacturing wiring looms and assembling connectors. Routing and fitting complex wiring to enclosures and other mechanical structures. Soldering terminations. Accurate assembly of equipment to Engineering drawings. Responsibility for inspecting own work, checking for electrical errors and ensuring equipment is wired according to drawings, best practices and applicable standards/procedures before passing equipment to the next stage of the manufacturing process. Ensure changes/modifications/improvements during the build process are documented and communicated to the Engineering team. Ensure that all procedures are followed as specified in the Quality Manual. Ensure work can be completed by communicating material shortages with production control and purchasing. Maintain workplace cleanliness and organisation to agreed standards. Assist with relevant tool calibration when required. Occasional travel to customer premises may be required.Essential Relevant experience in an electrical wiring field. Able to work under own initiative.Desirable Computer literate with experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Basic mechanical assembly skills desirable (drilling / tapping etc). Experience in New Product Introduction or start-up or pilot production environment desirable. Familiar with wiring standards required on military equipment desirable. Experience of terminating and splicing fibre optic assemblies a benefit. Highly focused with excellent attention to detail.
