SLC have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Delivery Manager to come on a temporary basis to support the Software Delivery team within SLCs technology Group. Student Financing for England Undergraduates students is currently going through a significant change with the introduction of Life Long learning entitlement, the delivery of these changes is a key element of the role. In this role, you will lead a team to deliver new features and drive improvements which have measurable impact, while supporting the live service. You will plan out your roadmap and deliver project change, continuous improvement and architectural enhancements through a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled technical team. The successful applicant will enjoy delivering complex digital projects, breaking down barriers for the team with the ability to both plan at a higher level and get into the detail to make things happen when needed. You will also be customer-focused and enjoy using analytics, regularly monitoring production data to understand operational performance and drive the prioritisation of the roadmap in alignment to business goals. SLC offer a blended working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home. Person specification What you bring: Extensive technical leadership experience of leading development on AWS solutions, Java/React applications, and database systems (Oracle, MongoDB), with deep understanding of modern platforms, open-source tools, and architectural best practices. Proven track record in agile project management, demonstrating not just methodological expertise but deep understanding of agile principles and their strategic value in delivering successful outcomes. Outstanding stakeholder management abilities, building and maintaining strong relationships across all levels while effectively communicating strategic direction and managing complex expectations. Very good problem-solving capabilities, with demonstrated experience in breaking down complex challenges, identifying early warning signs, and implementing decisive solutions to keep deliveries on track. Good track record of fostering innovation and continuous improvement, driving data-driven service excellence, and optimising delivery processes to eliminate operational bottlenecks. Exemplary leadership skills in motivating and developing high-performing teams, setting clear objectives and expectations while cultivating a customer-centric culture focused on quality outcomes.
