A bit about the role We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Therapeutic Residential worker to join our team. In this role you will provide the central support to our children who have faced challenging life experiences, helping them to grow and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. As Therapeutic Residential worker you will follow established care plans, implementing supportive interventions, and completing necessary paperwork, as well as facilitating engaging activities that promote emotional and social development. You work closely with multidisciplinary team to ensure that each child needs are met, fostering a sense of stability and trust. Strong communication skills, empathy, and a solid understanding of supportive care practise are crucial for the success in this role. About the service Ayton Villa is a residential care home for trauma-informed children they centred around providing a safe and supportive environment for the young individuals in our care have experienced various forms of trauma. Working in such a setting involves understanding the unique needs of each child and recognising how their past experiences may affect their behaviour and emotional well-being. In this environment, you might encounter children who display a range of behaviours stemming from their past experiences, such as a difficulty with attachment, heightened anxiety, or challenges in emotional regulation. Your role would involve creating structured routines and therapeutic activities that encourage positive interactions and help children develop coping strategies. We work closely with mental health professionals to ensure that each child's care plan is tailored to their specific needs, promoting their overall development and well-being. What you'll be doing: In the role of Therapeutic Residential Worker, you will be promoting Action for Children's values as well as supporting the Registered Manager and team to achieve positive outcomes in the lives of our young people. Ideally you will have: Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
