What Will You Do?
As an Apprentice Wastewater Maintenance Technician, your role will include:
* Ensure Water Recycling sites operate correctly and reliably to treat water used by customers before safely returning it to the environment.
* Play a vital role in keeping our assets running effectively and efficiently.
* Conduct routine inspections and proactive maintenance to prevent issues.
* Swiftly troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
* Operate and test cutting-edge equipment to optimize performance.
* Maintain sewer networks to ensure everything flows seamlessly.
* Focus on compliance with safety protocols and environmental standards.
* Contribute directly to protecting communities and the environment.
What Are We Looking For?
* A passion for problem-solving and sustainability.
* GCSEs (Grade A-C or 9-4 in Math, English, and Science) or Level 2 Functional Skills. (please note that predicted grades will be accepted if you have not yet completed your exams)
* A willingness to work outdoors and take on challenges.

Your Learning Journey
Your time will be split between classroom and on-the-job learning. You will attend college on a block release schedule, spending Monday to Thursday there for two weeks at a time, which amounts to eight college days per month. The remaining time will be spent on the job learning, applying your learning and gaining hands-on experience. Your learning journey will also be supported with a minimum of 6 hours per week of off-the-job training. This course usually takes 4 years to complete. (Travel costs to/from college will be covered, in line with our expenses reimbursement policy).
