We are on the hunt for a Data Architect & Security Senior Officer to sprinkle some Azure Data Services fairy dust and keep our data kingdom safe.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and implementing scalable data warehouses and data lakes within Synapse, constructing and maintaining data pipelines, as well as possessing knowledge in data modelling and ETL/ELT processes. Additionally, the ability to communicate intricate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential.
Reporting directly to the Head of Insight and Data Analytics, this position oversees two Data Analysts and one Data Engineer. You will assist the data team in producing high-level reports and data that will be used to make better decisions for the Council.
Your role will also encompass overseeing future technological advancements and collaborating with the broader DDaT function to deliver the upcoming digital strategy.
Following a comprehensive departmental restructure, we have created several new positions, including this one, which offers the opportunity to join an ambitious team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate innovation and a positive approach to overcoming challenges as we explore new methods of working and delivering digital services.
The role is hybrid based at Bury Town Hall in supporting agile working. The position will require regular visits to our offices and in some instance up to 3 times a week.
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
