We have an exciting opportunity for a Client Affairs Service Officer This role plays a key role within Adult Social Care and Safeguarding by supporting vulnerable people who lack the mental capacity to manage their own finances, by acting as court appointed Deputy or Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) approved Appointee. The service aims to enhance the wellbeing of our customers whilst keeping them safe from financial abuse and ensuring their independence and choice are maintained. Main Responsibilities We have a hardworking and busy administrative team which ensures that client’s finances are well managed in their best interests. As a member of the team you will: liaise closely with the client, their carer’s, family and friends to enable the client to live as independently as they can. be responsible for managing all of the client’s finances including utility bills, bank accounts, occupational pensions, DWP benefits and investments. The Ideal Candidate Working within The Client Affairs Service requires teamwork, good organisational skills and a good level of competency using IT systems. You’ll also need: An understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and how it applies to Deputyship Knowledge of working with vulnerable adults who lack mental capacity to manage their own finances and property To plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure Experience of working in an administrative or finance function Knowledge of benefits and pensions payable to service users by DWP etc The ability and experience to operate a computer-based information system and use Microsoft Office packages Experience of working with internal & external customers to provide an excellent quality service We are currently working both from the office and remotely and it is anticipated that this will continue.
