Hays are working in partnership with a leading building servicespany based in County Down. Our client wishes to appoint an experienced Accountant
This is a key role within the finance team, working closely with the finance manager.
Salary up to £45,000

Your new role
You will work closely with the finance manager and other members of the finance team in the delivery of a varied portfolio of work including monthly management accounts preparation including full reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts.
You will also be responsible for the following:
• Monitoring and reporting on job performance.
• Business Partnering with Department managers
• Departmental reviews to include Risk and Opportunity Reporting and Budget reviews
• Budget administration within Exchequer and excel budget reporting
• Responsible for daily bank administration including bank reconciliations, weekly and monthly payment processing and cash flow forecasting
• Administration of IR35 / VAT / CIS including returns
• Financial Accounting activity including journal entries, Profit and Loss Account reconciliations, financial analysis and Audit preparation
• Responsible for Sales invoice processing, cash collection and liaising with Clients
• Liaising with key staff in relation to Research and Development project reporting and assisting with Research and Development Tax submissions
• Assisting with grant submissions and responsible for grant claims
• Develop and rmend / implement process improvements
What you'll need to succeed
To be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or equivalent) but part qualified may also be considered with extensive experience. You must have at least 2 years of relevant experience, ideally within manufacturing and/or construction.
or the construction sector. Strong IT skills, particularly with MS office. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload. Developed problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage conflicting work demands. Experience in using the Exchequer would be desirable but not essential.
