We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Pentonville, a category B Prison located in London.
HMP Pentonville is a male prison that provides 24 hour healthcare which has their own inpatient unit. The role of Public Health Nurse is to lead the Public Health within the prison by treating, reporting and controlling outbreaks and educating. You must have experience within public health or a relevant qualification.

Hours: Monday - Friday - 0800 - 1630, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary from £44,863 up to £53,172 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Public Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Lead on prevention, promotion and protection of our prison communities.
* Ensure effective and consistent delivery of national screening programmes, Health and Justice Indicators of Performance, health checks, blood borne virus screening, recording public health activity in the secure estate and leading our health promotion strategy.
* Be our Infection Prevention and Control Lead, maintaining standards and leading the management of outbreaks.
* Provide health promotion and disease prevention advice for patients.
* Coordinate all clinical activity in relation to screening and health prevention including section 7a and HJIPs; undertake screening of individuals and populations and respond appropriately to findings and work with others to protect the public's health.

Qualifications required
* Registered NMC Nurse
* Demonstrate a passion for working in public health and infection prevention and control
* Evidence of post registration CPD
* UKPHR registration is highly advantageous, as is a public health qualification and Infection prevention and control qualification
* Non-judgmental and compassionate approach
