Our client is seeking a Finance Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, customer-focused financial services that drive informed decision-making and operational success. Key details: Full time, fixed term contract – 6 months (potentially extended to permanent) Hybrid working pattern – home-based combined with at least 4 times a month in beautiful HQ offices in Buckinghamshire Salary of up to ca £56,000 per annum The role As Finance Manager, you will lead on management accounting, treasury management, VAT oversight, and process improvements, ensuring strong financial controls are in place. You will produce insightful management accounts, oversee financial reporting, and manage key relationships with auditors, insurers, and banking partners. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to strategic projects, streamline processes, and support business growth. Key responsibilities of the role include: Lead the production of management accounts, balance sheets, and cashflow reports, delivering timely and accurate financial information. Support budget holders with financial analysis, problem-solving, and business case reviews. Oversee treasury management, ensuring cashflow forecasting, investment monitoring, and banking relationships are optimised. Take ownership of VAT management, including quarterly returns, partial exemptions, and year-end adjustments. Manage the sub-ledgers, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, and reconciliations. Lead the annual external audit process, preparing year-end accounts and liaising with auditors. Drive process and system improvements, identifying opportunities for efficiencies and leading change. Oversee the organisation’s insurance portfolio, coordinating renewals and identifying new cover requirements. The ideal candidate This Finance Manager role will suit you perfectly if you have the following: Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with a strong background in financial and management accounting. Experience managing small teams and working in fast-paced environments. Proven ability to prepare monthly management reports, year-end accounts, VAT returns (including partial exemptions), and business performance updates. Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, VAT regulations, and financial systems. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify trends and resolve complex financial issues. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels, including working closely with internal and external auditors. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems and databases.
