Dental NED/Advisor Solicitor – Mergers & Acquisitions Specialist (UK Dental Market)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Non-Executive Director (NED)/advisor with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) within the UK dental sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the UK market, including NHS contracting, private practice operations, and regulatory frameworks. This role is critical in providing strategic oversight, governance, and expert advice to support our growth through acquisitions and integration of dental practices across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic guidance on M&A activities, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s goals and compliance with UK-specific regulations.
* Offer independent advice on due diligence, negotiation strategies, and risk management during acquisition processes.
* Leverage expertise in the UK dental market to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements.
* Advise on post-acquisition integration strategies to ensure smooth transitions and long-term success.
* Act as a critical friend to the executive team, constructively challenging decisions while fostering collaboration.
* Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards and maintain an independent perspective in all board discussions.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience (minimum 15 years) in mergers and acquisitions, with a strong focus on the UK healthcare or dental industry.
* In-depth knowledge of NHS contracting, private dental practice operations, and UK regulatory requirements.
* Prior experience serving as a Non-Executive Director or in a similar advisory capacity is highly desirable.
* Exceptional strategic thinking, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and board-level responsibilities.
Preferred Skills:
* Familiarity with the unique challenges of consolidating dental practices in the UK market.
* Experience working with private equity or corporate consolidators in the healthcare sector.
* Ability to provide mentorship and support to executive teams navigating complex transactions.
Time Commitment:
* Available for 8-16 hours per month (mostly remote), including attendance at board meetings, committee work, and strategic discussions.
