The School Office in the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures (LLC) is looking for a Finance Resources Assistant to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time role. The post holder will be responsible for a wide range of financial processes for both the School Finance and Research offices and will contribute to the continuous development and improvement of the School’s financial functions. The Opportunity The Post-holder will support the organisation, management and operation of School finance resources, ensuring a consistent and effective customer service to staff and students across the School. They will have responsibility for a wide range of financial processes and contribute to the continuous development and improvement of the School’s financial functions. The successful candidate will have strong numeracy skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy and be a pro-active member of the team working to facilitate the efficient and smooth delivery of the financial processing; acting as a first point of support and queries for staff, visitors and liaising with our central finance and procurement teams in respect of our suppliers who provide goods and services to the School. Your skills and attributes for success: Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 2/3, ONC or equivalent) and/or relevant work experience OR school education to Standard Grade or equivalent and/or relevant work experience. Experience of effective and accurate financial processing, records management, monitoring, reconciliation and reporting, using electronic tools and systems. A working knowledge of MS Office packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel, and an ability to learn how to use web-based (and other IT) packages. Excellent numeracy skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Competent customer service skills with proven ability to give clear and professional advice to colleagues and external visitors, in writing and in person. Well-developed organisational, decision-making, time management and prioritisation skills. Able to maintain focus and provide efficient service under pressure and in a busy environment, with a proactive approach to seeking out information.
