POSITION OVERVIEW Managing a focused team of Operational Support Engineers developing capability in line with changing demand, quality targets and cost requirements of the business, of the assigned business area ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES To plan and control the allocation of support engineers and co-ordinate their activities in order to improve manufacturing performance with regard to output, productivity and cost To ensure effective two-way communications are developed and maintained between areas / APU Managers and Production Managers To be responsible for ensuring that all line documentation and quality procedures are updated and maintained To be responsible for the line management of support engineers, leading this group to ensure that the necessary engineering support is provided to satisfy operational requirements To recruit, train and develop employees within operational support, monitoring and appraising performance, coaching and maintaining discipline To be responsible for the effective management (in line with Company policies and procedures) of engineering changes, product revisions and upgrades, new products, manufacturing developments and new processes Participate in departmental team activities To support Total Quality initiatives including identification of Opportunities for Improvement and participation in TQ Projects General management tasks: Active participation in cost reduction initiatives Achieve departmental / individual budget goals including control / management of resource footprint of own area of responsibility.
