A day in the life
Being a Supply Chain Manager for Amazon involves lots of problem solving. You’ll work with a number of teams to navigate challenges as and when situations impact our network. You’ll spend time resolving temporary issues and looking at the bigger picture to drive Amazon towards achieving new objectives. This role is both proactive and reactive, and you’ll have the opportunity to help forecast and plan for new projects.
As a Supply Chain Manager, you’ll need to help with both on-the-ground tasks and more tactical work. No two days will be the same. You could spend one day helping to define our supply chain and operating models and the next assisting with a site’s resource plan for a busy period. The Global Mile Air Product team is looking for a strong candidate for the role of Supply Chain Manager. In this role, the successful candidate will understand Amazon’s Cross Border Transportation Network and manage integrating 3P carriers into the Amazon network. A successful candidate will engage multiple cross-functional teams, convert business needs into technical requirements, influence project prioritization, and manage end-to-end carrier deployment projects. Responsibilities include:
1. End-to-end project ownership
2. Following best practices for carrier onboarding/deployment
3. Launching and ramping the supply chain solution
4. Monitoring performance through metrics
5. Communicating project status updates to leadership
6. Stabilizing operations
7. Transitioning the program to operations
This role does not require the ability to write technical code; however, communicating with technical teams will be critical. The candidate will thrive off waking up daily and determining how well we performed to our goals, and how we satisfied our Sellers and Customers today. Functional knowledge of data and analysis tools, standard deviation fundamentals, and graphical data presentation models to highlight wins and misses will be integral to this role.
Minimum Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree
2. Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
3. Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams
4. Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
5. Experience in program or project management
6. Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
7. Experience defining and executing program requirements
8. Experience in driving end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
9. Experience leading process improvements
10. Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
11. Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
