Job Description Experienced Functional Skills Tutor (Hybrid) - Norwich Due to continued growth, Swarm Training CIC are looking for a Functional Skills tutor to deliver high quality Maths and English training to our apprentices. The majority of this training will be remote, via video link, but there may be some requirement to travel and to deliver face-to-face training occasionally. We are looking for 3-5 days per week. We are looking for someone who will be enthusiastic and supportive, have excellent experience within the field and be able to manage their time effectively to meet the individual needs of our valued apprentices and employers. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Provide 121 and group remote Functional Skills Maths and English training to learners working towards their apprenticeship standard. Maintain accurate records of training and progress. Organise and arrange exams adhering to Awarding Body Standards. Comply with auditing, monitoring and awarding organisations. Monitor and ensure that all learners are on target to complete Functional Skills ahead of Gateway. Complete regular reviews with apprentices and employers to discuss progress and set goals. Understand and proactively promote Prevent, Safeguarding, British Values, Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety. Comply with relevant legislation and regulations including H&S and GDPR. Adhere to Company Policies as identified within the Staff Handbook. Qualifications & requirements: Suitable Teaching Qualification Experience as a Functional Skills tutor up to Maths and English level 2 or GCSE Maths and English teaching. Maths and English GCSE, or A Level or suitable equivalent Personal Skills and Qualities: Self-motivated and able to work well independently, managing time effectively. Well prepared with excellent planning skills to deliver high quality learning. Genuine passion and enthusiasm for teaching. A supportive approach to encourage and assist learners to achieve. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels Attention to detail Excellent time management skills Excellent communication skills to ensure engagement with employers, apprentices and the team. Flexible in approach to delivery and, where required, prepared to visit apprentices in their place of work if needed.
