Summary:
Overview: Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and enhance their manufacturing operations through a programme of investment in both plant and people. Leading a multi-disciplined engineering function, you will develop and deploy the strategy for the plants, working to improve day to day working methodologies as well as delivering strategic improvements through a suite of projects spanning all aspects of the facilities operations. To be suitable for this role you will be an advocate for best practice and keen to develop teams as well as deliver results. Collaboration with key stakeholders will be critical in the effective delivery of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Maintenance, Reliability, Site Infrastructure, and Facilities operations, driving site reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Develop a proactive maintenance and reliability strategy in line with the site investment.
3. Optimise company utilisation of the company CMMS systems.
4. Promote a culture of development and continuous improvement, spearheading programs to develop both the site and its people.
5. Collaborate with high-calibre teams to implement improvements and progressive processes within departmental operations, supporting daily functions and business growth.
6. Manage investment into the site, prioritising and justifying spending decisions aligned with impact and shared benefits across stakeholders.
7. Foster strong relationships with direct reports and peers across departments to align expectations and behaviours.
Core Duties:
1. Develop a proactive maintenance and reliability strategy in line with the site investment.
2. Establish and track performance metrics for the department.
3. Identify and drive improvement projects.
4. Contribute to broader operational activities, collaborating on projects to enhance the site.
5. Work closely with cross-departmental teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Solid technical/engineering background.
2. Proven experience leading engineering teams across engineering operations within a manufacturing site.
3. Able to demonstrate broad business acumen with a strategic view of site operations and the ability to achieve cost savings, efficiency, and process improvements.
4. Competent in critical thinking and problem-solving.
5. Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
6. Knowledge of site Automation, ideally familiar with technologies linked to Robotics, PLCs, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems, etc.
7. Capable people manager with the ability to lead and develop others.
8. Strong time management and organisational skills.
