The Deputy Head of Urgent Care plays a key role in supporting the delivery and growth of our urgent care services. Reporting to the Head of Urgent Care, you will manage all operational aspects of our urgent care services, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective delivery while meeting business objectives and providing excellent patient care. Main duties of the job
* Manage and oversee all urgent care operations to ensure the effective delivery of services.
* Work closely with the Head of Urgent Care and service managers to implement the urgent care strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and maintaining a culture of patient safety.
* Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with commissioners and other key stakeholders.
* Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and profitability is maintained.
* Evaluate performance and analyse data to inform future trends and strategies for service improvement.
* Stay up to date with NHSE guidelines, industry standards, and competitor activities to ensure continuous improvement.
* Ensure the safe and effective management of all urgent care and out-of-hours services.
* Contribute to the development of new services and improve existing services to enhance patient care.
* Support bids and identify new business growth opportunities.
* Lead and support operations staff, ensuring they are motivated, well-trained, and meeting performance standards.
* Provide necessary reports and data to stakeholders, including commissioners, in a timely manner.
* Continuously monitor trends, forecasts, and changes in the industry to anticipate needs and ensure best practices are followed.
* Develop operational strategies to improve productivity and achieve organisational objectives.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the achievement of operational goals.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
* Strong experience in managing operations in an urgent care or healthcare setting.
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
* Knowledge of NHSE guidelines and the ability to stay up to date with healthcare trends.
* Proven ability to manage teams, drive performance, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
* Ability to develop and implement strategies that support growth and improve operational efficiency.
