We are now recruiting for a Senior Safety C&I Engineer to be involved in delivering an industry-leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of nuclear power station.
What we’re looking for
As a Senior Safety C&I Engineer, you will provide technical expertise across the lifecycle of hardwired protection and accident management systems for the SMR nuclear power plant ‘reactor island’. This includes:
1. Delivering the complete design of the systems, spanning requirements gathering, development of system architecture, sub-system design, and equipment specification.
2. Working closely with the engineering teams from across the reactor island and applying a structured systems engineering approach to design.
3. Gathering and developing system requirements with Plant Process Engineers and other C&I Engineers.
4. Translating these requirements into design specifications for the hardwired protection and accident management systems.
5. Ensuring that the design is compliant with international standards, particularly IEC 61513, IEC61226, and IEC61508.
6. Supporting the planning and implementation of policies and procedures related to the lifecycle of the systems.
7. Contributing to the production of safety cases and providing support in liaising with regulators and independent nuclear safety assessors.

Training & Qualification Requirements
1. Hold a degree-level qualification in one or more of the engineering disciplines of electrical, electronics, instrumentation, control systems, mechatronics, physics, or computer science.
2. Applicants without a degree who can demonstrate suitable experience may also be considered.
Pay and Benefits
We anticipate paying a salary of between £48,000 - £62,500 (DOE) plus:
1. Bonus - Performance related bonus of up to 12.5%
2. Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum
3. Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
4. Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.

6. Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
7. £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
