This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, well organised, dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to work within the surgical team to Transcribe from recorded dictation and undertake some general administrative duties within the service.
This is a pivotal Audio Typing role and we are looking for someone with excellent customer care skills, enthusiasm, a flexible approach and a professional attitude. You will be expected to have excellent communication and customer service skills with experience in using computer systems. Good keyboard skills are essential for the post and you should possess a current working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and Excel. Some receptionist experience is desirable for this role.
You will be liaising with internal and external staff on a daily basis face to face and via the telephone. You should possess a friendly and approachable manner, be able to work calmly under pressure and demonstrate an awareness of confidentiality issues. You will need to have excellent people skills; excellent communication skills, enjoy working in a busy, challenging environment and have a positive approach to change.

The patient pathway co-ordinator (PPC) will work within dedicated speciality Divisions to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that there are co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes that revolve around the patient and their individual needs. The main duty for this role will be Audio typing amongst other duties that may be assigned.

We’re looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It’ll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
