AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
We are looking for experienced and motivated technologists who possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. You will partner with some of the world's largest companies to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. In collaboration with account managers, you will assist in driving growth across a small set of global customers in your defined country. As a trusted customer advocate, the solutions architect will help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a solutions architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
2. In partnership with the account management team, formulate and execute a strategy.
3. Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
4. Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
5. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.
6. Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers.
7. Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
8. Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Significant architecture/design/implementation experience with distributed applications and experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
2. Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
3. History of successful technical and architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises.
4. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
5. Technical degree required; Computer Science or Math background highly desired.
6. Experience working with global Health Care Life Sciences companies or hands-on experience with complex cloud migration projects.
7. Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
8. Familiarity with common enterprise services (Directory Services, Information Assurance, Virtual Desktop, etc.), products (i.e., Oracle, SAP), and frameworks (ITIL, Zachman, TOGAF, etc.).
9. Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.
10. Fluency in German.
