Hours:
1. Week 1: 6am-2pm Monday-Friday
2. Week 2: 8pm-6am Monday-Thursday
3. Week 3: 1pm-9pm Monday-Thursday and 10am-6pm Friday
Start Date: Immediately
The Role:
You will be part of a 2-man team working a 3-shift rota. On your team will be a Mechanical fitter, and yourself the Electrician. You will be tasked to carry out preventative maintenance tasks as well as be reactive with regards to plant breakdowns and repairs.
You will also be required to carry out installation work on machinery and within the factory and any maintenance work on bay lighting and other electrical services.
All actions need to be carried out in a safe and professional manner, reporting to supervisors, and filling out daily shift reports and other necessary paperwork.
Duties:
1. Installation work on both factory and process machinery.
2. Fault find on 415v, 240v, 110v and 24vac and dc systems.
3. Follow circuit diagrams to aid fault finding.
4. PLC, establish necessary input/output (no program facility).
5. Fault find on OHC's, remote handsets, contactor function, fuses.
6. DC drives/inverters basic knowledge would be an advantage.
7. Maintain high bay lighting replacement, repair, and LED upgrade.
8. Test emergency lighting and evacuation alarm system.
9. Involved in circuit design and control panel building.
10. Other general maintenance tasks as required.
Skills and Experience:
Completed Apprenticeship/time served would be preferred. 18th Edition IEE Regs preferred, but not essential. NVQ level 3 or City and Guilds in Electrical Maintenance or any other relevant qualification. Proof of certification will be required.
Heavy Industrial work experience. Experience of slitting/decoiling machines would be an advantage.
Driving licence preferred but not essential.
Will start with an initial 3-month probationary period, which may be extended if required.
Trade Tests:
1. Check fuses.
2. Test continuity hydraulic/pneumatic coil.
3. Insulation resistance test 3 phase motor to earth.
4. Test motor windings continuity.
5. Identify equipment.
6. Live test.
7. Look at drawings.
Rates of Pay:
Weekly Paid
Midweek Basic Rate: £15.93ph
Overtime during the week @ Rate 2: £19.11ph
Saturday overtime @ Rate 4: £23.89ph
Sunday and Bank holidays @ Rate 3: £31.86ph
Basic hours equate to circa £36k + overtime.
Current Working Patterns (Based on 40 hours):
1. Week 1: 6am-2pm Mon-Fri @ Rate 1
2. Week 2: 8pm-6am Mon-Thurs @ Rate 2 + £1/p/h antisocial allowance.
3. Week 3: 1pm-9pm Mon-Thurs, and 10am-6pm Fri @ Rate 1
Hours & Shift Pattern subject to change. As our client has a 24-hour production site, maintenance cover is required at all times. Flexibility on shift hours is essential to suit business demand and changes to business needs.
Overtime Requirements:
Weekend working - A minimum of 1 Saturday in 3 required following the 6-2 shift as well as 12-hour shifts to cover holidays of other engineers and maintain 24-hour plant support and/or emergency breakdowns as and when required. Additional overtime will be required to suit business needs.
Holiday Entitlement/Other:
33 days holiday.
Fixed Shutdown Periods are pre-planned during Whitsun, Summer & Christmas. Whitsun & Summer are for Maintenance Activities whereby all Engineers are required to work.
