Finance Solicitor, Belfast, 1 yrs + PQE. Large global law firm wishes to recruit a Finance Solicitor to join their well established banking and Finance practice.
Our client has a strong reputation for executing high-profile and complex finance deals with accuracy and at speed. The London Finance Division provides advice to lenders, borrowers, advisers and other key players in the financial markets on all types of financings and cutting- edge transactions, including 'first to market' novel structures and cross-border deals.
The firm encompasses a wide range of specialist finance areas, including energy finance, project finance and infrastructure, real estate finance, leveraged finance and structured finance.
Our clients Finance practice is recognised as market leading in this finance specialist arena, regularly advising on high profile deals involving property acquisition or development finance, senior and mezzanine finance and listed property financings in the loan and bond markets.
The successful candidate will be expected to
1. Conduct fee earning work directly, as well as supervising Trainees, Senior Legal Analysts and Legal Analysts.
2. Play a proactive role in the delivery of finance transactions and project, under the supervision of the Digital Legal Delivery Finance Senior team and in collaboration with London Finance teams.
3. Deliver excellent client service and make an effective contribution to the firm’s work.
4. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of law to the Digital Legal Delivery Finance practice.
5. Working with legal technology tools appropriate to the relevant matter (e.g. AI/ artificial intelligence and legal tech tools to improve efficiency of service delivery).
6. Comply with risk requirements, firm policies and all relevant professional responsibilities and legislation and contribute to billing, engagement and client acceptance processes.
7. Liaising with clients and teams elsewhere in the firm as required on fee-earning matters or projects.
8. UK travel may be required from time to time.
9. There may be opportunity for international travel (although this is not a pre-requisite for the role) as well as potential opportunities for client secondments.
The successful candidate must be;
10. Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or Northern Ireland. Republic of Ireland or other common law and international jurisdictions will be considered. (If not qualified in England and Wales then willing to complete process to requalify as such, if required).
11. Minimum of 1 + years’ PQE, the majority of which should be banking and finance experience (unless exceptional circumstances exist. in which case please submit a supporting statement outlining why you are an exceptional candidate (including relevant skills and experience)).
12. Strong legal skills, including drafting, negotiation and project management skills.
13. Basic people management and business development skills.
Some understanding of key drivers for financial efficiency; and good financial discipline (time-recording, WIP management, billing etc).
