We have an exciting new vacancy for a roadside vehicle technician. As a family business we work with the major breakdown and recovery agencies such as Green Flag, LV Britannia and the RAC amongst just a few. We are looking for an applicant who is an experienced motor vehicle technician and that has been working in a workshop before. Experience of working as a roadside technician is not essential but it would be an advantage. You will be experienced in changing tyres, flat batteries etc and you should be use to diagnosing vehicles to get the customers back on the road. You will be issued with a works van with a VRS (vehicle recovery system) so that you can recover vehicles to their requested address within Cornwall if the customers vehicle isn't able to be fixed. When not out you will be assisting the other technicians in the workshop. The vacancy will be from 40 hours per week which includes either a Saturday or Sunday which increases during the busy periods and dependant of the needs of the business. You will also work additional hours for annual leave cover. you will be expected to be available some evenings to be arranged as this business is 24 hours. You will also be working some bank holidays as arranged. It would be useful if you had a C1 licence so that you are able to drive a 7.5 ton recovery truck to recover vehicles locally when the main recovery driver is out of the county. You may already have a tacho card as the VRS is under tacho regulations and understand the importance of vehicle walk around checks. If you've been in the industry before then you may have a current drivers CPC card with at least one year left before you require further training. If you have a current DBS enclosure certificate this would be an advantage but not essential. If we had applicants that only wanted part time we would look at this option also. We are looking for a team player who will fit in well with the other staff within our business. This vacancy is to start in as soon as possible. ADZN1_UKTJ
