The role
supports the efficient and professional running of the CBRN Operations team at the NCBRNC, with specific responsibility for the creation and delivery of intelligence products, both on an individual basis and with partners. In this role, you will offer specialist advice supporting UK wide policing operations as well as servicing multi agency partners across all blue light services, military and government departments within the CBRN and intelligence community.
Responsibilities
1. Work as part of a team to bring together, develop and maintain the UK’s multi-agency capability to respond to CBRN incidents effecting national security.
2. Monitor relevant intelligence products to inform the CBRN community on current and future CBRN threats.
3. Work with UK Intelligence Community Partners (UKIC) in writing and delivering bespoke intelligence briefing products to the UK CBRN community.
4. Work with niche CBRN partners to develop an understanding of the current CBRN threats and future capabilities of hostile actors to UK national security.
5. Use police intelligence indices to inform intelligence products developed by NCBRNC Operations.
6. Develop and enhance relationships with external agencies and partners.
7. Complete concise and accurate records of operational CBRN incidents to enable research and evaluation to identify trends, intelligence opportunities and areas for improvement.
8. Deploy nationally as part of the operations team supporting police forces around the UK with spontaneous CBRN incidents affecting national security and planned protective security operations.
9. Provide advice, direction, and peer review to support partners during the planning of CBRN operations.
10. Become part of the on-call cadre of Duty Officers providing 24/7 support to emergency services responding to CBRN related incidents.
Essential
Recent experience of multi-agency working.
Experience of creating and delivering intelligence products within an intelligence function.
Excellent communicator, confident to deliver intelligence briefings to different audiences, tailoring the product and language to suit the customer.
Be personable, approachable and people focussed, demonstrating an understanding of diversity, equality and inclusivity in your work.
Motivated and able to effectively prioritise and plan workloads with a careful attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Have a hardworking and reliable attitude, able to work autonomously but collaboratively.
Hold a UK driving licence and be trained to respond in police vehicles, either holding standard or advanced driver qualifications.
Competent in the use of MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook & Teams).
Desirable
Hold Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) accreditation in your current role.
Hold a CBRN Tactical Advisor qualification, or have significant experience responding to CBRN related incidents. If you do not currently hold this qualification you must be willing and capable of achieving the qualification as soon as possible after the secondment starts.
Be able to use NCIA and other IT systems at higher government classifications or be willing to undergo training.
Hold a Radiation Protection Supervisor qualification.
Recent experience of working within the CBRN sphere. This includes previous Military, Police and other CBRN knowledge
Have experience of working with the UK Intelligence Community and managing multiple work-streams, projects or demands.
Additional information
⇄ This position is offered as a 2 year secondment to West Midlands Police as host to NCBRNC and attracts Central service Allowance (CSA). You may be required to work occasional unsocial hours and be expected to visit various locations across the UK with overnight stays. International travel may also be required. Flexible working patterns may be considered. To qualify, you must confirm in your application that you have received approval through the process established by your Chief Officer for secondments to another Force.
