Quality Control Technician Peebles rural location Farm work Monday to Friday 7am-4pm £11.50 per hour 12 week temp to perm for the right candidate Flexibility required around finish time and weekend work to meet business needs Taskmaster Scotland in Dunfermline are working with our long-standing client to recruit a Quality Control Technician to join their existing team. Our client has been trading since 1959 and are a family run business. They are one of the largest suppliers of eggs to all the large major supermarkets and the location is rural, between Penicuik and Peebles. Working as a Quality Control Technician, your main responsibilities will be: 1. Inspect and test of product, packaging and production methods 2. Identify products and practices that do not meet standards 3. Develop, understand and comply with all customer and accreditation standards 4. Ensure date coding and labelling compliance 5. Conduct Weight, Temperature, Chemical concentration, Ungraded, Class A and Shelf-Life checks 6. Hand candle all double Yolkers in a timely manner and complete relevant records 7. Monitor, verify and file daily production records and maintain documentation accurately 8. Enter data using spreadsheets and software programmes (training provided) 9. Collect all microbiological, chemical and water samples and submit via accredited laboratory using web portal 10. Ensure adequate stock levels of lab supplies and consumables 11. Maintenance and calibration of all testing equipment (internally and externally) Identify and minimise issues, communicate all defect/problems as they arise to managers and relevant operators Keep the TM fully updated of all quality issues in a timely manner Member of the HACCP team Train staff against policies, procedures and work Instructions Conduct internal audits as allocated Ensure the factory is always maintained in an audit ready state 18. Ensure full traceability is maintained throughout the process from goods in to goods out 19. Conduct and present full traceability, mass balance and volume reconciliation to external auditors 20. Carry out other reasonable duties within the context of the companys operational SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Confident and self-motivated (ability to work independently and present to external auditors) Excellent attention to detail Multi tasks and prioritise tasks Strong IT/Excel and numerical skills - Knowledge of Excel advantageous Basic Food Hygiene and HACCP Logical minded with a curiosity to problem solve and investigate root causes Communication and interpersonal good team working skills PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED Ability to use own initiative and carry out duties in a timely manner Dependable Instil good practice, be a role model, with high standards of personal hygiene.
