About the Role We are seeking to recruit confident and self-motivated higher level teaching assistants (HLTA) to support our students in our core subject areas - maths, English and science. It would be an advantage to have either HLTA status or significant experience as a teaching assistant as well as specific subject knowledge and training. Our HLTAs make an important contribution to the faculties. They support our students in small groups or sometimes working with whole classes and providing cover support. We encourage our HLTAs to be involved in the wider life of the academy by taking part in trips and extra-curricular activities. HLTAs also join subject teams for CPD so keep up-to-date with the latest developments in teaching and pedagogy. This permanent position is 37 hours per week 39 weeks, term time including inset days, however we are open to considering flexible working patterns i.e. part time. The initial rate of pay is the equivalent of £13.24 per hour, paid monthly over 12 months. The pay scale has five spinal points and increments are awarded in September until the top of the pay scale is reached.
