The Cambridge Practice is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and hard working practice nurses to join our friendly nursing team. The successful candidates will be working alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team, in delivering high quality care to our patient population.
We are a training practice and can provide training and support.
On occasion, there may be a requirement to participate in some extended access clinics.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will support in the following:
1. Providing treatment room services - wound care, cervical screening, immunisation programmes, deliver health promotion.
2. Providing a holistic and evidence-based approach to wound management ideally including experience with ABPI readings & compression therapy, post-op wound care.
3. Supporting those who are partaking in the cervical screening programme and promoting other screening programmes.
4. Implement public health immunisation programmes for both adults and children.
5. Participate in nursing, clinical governance and any other relevant meetings.
6. Have an existing interest in long term health conditions or a willingness to train.
7. Support a variety of students from different disciplines.

The Cambridge Practice was formed in 2018 following the merger of Victoria and Southlea Group practices. We support approximately 23000 patients in the Aldershot area. We have a strong clinical team of GPs, PAs, ANPs, GPNs, Nurse Associates, Clinical Pharmacist, and Healthcare Assistant staff with additional services provided by our PCN colleagues including Paramedic Practitioners for home visits and First Contact Physiotherapists for self-referrals to MSK assessments.

Job responsibilities
You will need to be a registered general nurse, working in accordance with the NMC code of conduct. With evidence of ongoing professional development and experience of working within primary care.
Key responsibilities (but not limited to):
1. Participate in national screening programme such as cervical screening and deliver national immunisation and vaccination programmes.
2. Provide directly or assist GPs/AHP with contraceptive services.
3. Act as a chaperone when required.
4. Undertake health promotion to help educate patients/carers/families.
5. Provide general treatment room duties assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing care.
6. Support in emergency situations.
7. Recognise, assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needs.
8. Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with patient health care.
10. Support the clinical team with safeguarding matters in accordance with local and national policies and procedures.
11. Request/process pathology services as required.
12. Collect data and participate in regular practice audit/research projects.
13. Maintain your NMC registration and continuous professional development.
14. Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, carers and other co-workers, ensuring all statutory regulations are implemented and adhered to.
15. Demonstrate understanding of IPC measures.
16. Promote a professional approach by attire and attitude to patients and staff.
17. Attend and participate in staff and practice meetings as required.

Experience
* Experience of working in a GP practice.
* Experience of reviewing and managing long term conditions.
Qualifications
* Suitable nursing qualification - degree or diploma level.
Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of general practice nursing.
* Knowledge of National Immunisation Programme.
* Knowledge of Cervical screening programme.
* Caring and compassionate nurse.
* Good verbal and written skills.
* Ability to promote wellbeing.
